Rabbi Azaria Fetegu

Rabbi Azaria Fetegu, 39 yrs., married to Miriam and father to 8 children. He is the developer and manager of the enterprise, “The Keis”. He holds a graduate degree in education and is a lecturer, social activist, former paratrooper in the IDF, and son of the spiritual leader – Keis Barhanu Fetegu. He immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia at the age of 10 and works to promote successful integration and adaptation of the values of the Ethiopian community in Israeli society. He initiated and managed the agricultural farm in Kiryat Gat for approximately 10 years.

Keis Mantsnot Wondi

Keis Mantsnot Wondi, 55 yrs, married to Leah and father to 11 children. He is a lecturer and guide for the enterprise, “The Keis”. He serves as Keis, spiritual and social leader in Kiryat Gat and the Regional Councils of Lachish and Shafir. He learned with the late Chief Keis Manseh Zamro for 12 years and served him till his last day. Keis Wondi was among the first to transcribe the oral book of prayers into written form in the Ge’ez language. He received his B.A. degree from the Ono Academic College and is a member of the National Council of Jewish-Ethiopian Keis (Rabbinical) Leadership in Israel.

Dr. Shira Buchris-Bazak

Dr. Shira Buchris-Bazak, married to Noam and mother to seven children. She guides and advises the enterprise, “The Keis”. She is a lecturer at Bar Ilan University and researcher in the field of social sciences. She is an educational advisor and counselor for Psychological Advisory Services of the Department of Education. She founded and led the forum for the advancement of Jewish culture in Kiryat Gat. For approximately 10 years, she served as a director in the Marianne Center for preschool and child development in Kiryat Gat. She received her Doctorate with honors from Bar Ilan University in the fields of Talmud and Jewish Law.

Alemu ngatu

Alemu ngatu, 45 yrs., married to Shosh and father to 4 children. He is an instructor in the enterprise, “The Keis”. He is a certified electrical engineer working as an inspector in microchip processing on CMM machinery. He is a member of the Religious Council in Yavne. He learned in Ethiopia until 8th grade and reads and writes Amharic on a high level. He immigrated to Israel at the age of 16. He comes from a family of Keisim and is connected and active in the advancement of the Ethiopian community in Yavne.

Aragitu Cabada

Aragitu Cabada, married to warko and mother to 5 children. She is an instructor in the enterprise, “The Keis”. She holds a B.A. degree and taught math and Amharic in Ethiopia. In Israel, she has taught for 17 years in the educational system and prepared students for 5 points in the matriculation exams (bagrut). She is a social activist in Kiryat Gat and one of the founders of the group initiative “Maseret” which takes written stories based on real life experiences and turns them into professional level plays. The stories surround societal difficulties in the Holy Land.
