Building a traditional home – Godjo

We are proud to say that our venture also specializes in building a Godjo house just as we built in villages in Ethiopia. A Godjo house is a traditional residence, especially common in the rural areas of Ethiopia. Most of the Ethiopian Jews lived in this type of house. The house is built of natural materials that are found in the area – mud, soil, corn husks, grass, twigs and wood, etc. The Godjo is a pleasant, air-conditioned building, both in summer and in winter. It is cheap and simple to build and does not require the use of heavy mechanical tools.
The Godjo House is an attraction and platform for a variety of activity options for all ages. It constitutes a cultural center for Ethiopian Jews, providing an example of environmental ecological construction, a place to study every topic of recycling, the environment and more. This is one of the means by which we want to bring the spirit of Ethiopian Jewish culture to every corner of the Land of Israel.
Godjo House can be built near community centers, community centers, community gardens, inside the school yard, in places of entertainment for tourists, the JNF, the Society for the Protection of Nature and more.
