Lectures And Personal Stories
Personal life stories and stories of their Aliya (immigration) to Israel. The storytellers are immigrants who experienced life in Ethiopia, felt the hardship of the journey, walked by foot and experienced the suffering of the journey until they reached the land of Israel.
Lectures that deal with an introduction to the culture, background and history of Ethiopian Jewry.
Lecture and discussion on the origins and meaning of Sigd Day, personal account of Sigd Day in Ethiopia, enrichment activities on the customs of the holiday and how it is celebrated today and in the past.
A tour and personal story at a monument to the victims of Sudan.
Workshops And Activities
Pottery making
Pottery workshop involving the preparation of an assortment of housewares from clay. The activity is accompanied by an explanation of its link to the history of the Jews of Ethiopia through this craft.
Building a traditional home – Godjo
our venture also specializes in building a Godjo house just as we built in villages in Ethiopia. The Godjo House is an attraction and platform for a variety of activity options for all ages. It constitutes a cultural center for Ethiopian Jews, providing an example of environmental ecological construction,
Introduction to the Ethiopian kitchen
Workshop introducing traditional Ethiopian cuisine and it unusual ingredients, preparing dishes including Dabo and Injera, and tasting the food prepared during the workshop.
Tour and Hospitality in Kiryat Gat
The tours we do in Kiryat Gat are varied and each one is different from the other. There are tours that combine a personal story held at a monument to the victims of Sudan. There is also a tour and visit to synagogues of the Ethiopian community. In addition, we arrange meetings with Keisim and central personalities in the community.
